A Forest Ranger's main duty is to ensure that the vast forest are not hunted without permission of the Master of the Hunt. Other duties include ensuring the forest is not over-hunted. The position is not usually a full time position, instead being undertaken by people in shifts.

The Forest Ranger commands a salary of 7000 livres per month, with 750 in costs. The post grants you 3500 social points and 200 honour per month, with a gain of 8 on your health. Eight people can occupy this position. You need a social level of 12, but not greater than 50 to occupy this position. Your title must lie between Baron/Baroness and Viscomte/Viscomtess to retain this position. This position allows you to hand out five level one, five level two and one level three favours per season. When applying for this position, you need to submit proof of worthiness in the form of written Favours whose total levels equal or exceed 54.
