Frankincense & Myrrh

This recipe is for BULK but can easily be divided by 1/2 or 1/4

24 cups of dried flowers
4 cups lavender
1 cup each of vetiver root, sandalwood and cedar (or 3 cups of any one of these)
2 cups oakmoss (optional)
1/4 cup each ground cloves and cinnamon
2 chopped vanilla beans
1/2 cup each ground tonka beans and myrrh
1 1/4 cups ground frankincense
1 cup orris root mixed with 1 tablespoon frankincense oil
1 cup orris root mixed with 2 teaspoons lavender oil
1/2 cup orris root mixed with 1 teaspoon myrrh oil

Mix the oils with the orris root with a mortar and pestle first and let this "set" for a few days before adding to the rest of the potpourri. You can grind chunks of vanilla beans, tonka, orris root and frankincense and myrrh in a blender.

To achieve a golden hue use yellow and orange flowers such as: calendula, marigold, lilies, dafodils and orange blossoms.
To achieve a red hue use red flowers such as: bergamot, peonies and geraniums.
