Spiced Wine

1 gallon red wine
2 whole nutmeg
2 cups sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
2 oranges
2 lemons
2 ounces cloves
2 tsp each mace and ginger

Heat wine in a large pan. Add cinnamon, mace, clove and ginger. Stick cloves in oranges and lemons and place in pan. Simmer for 30 minutes. Add sugar and cook for 10 minutes. You can make a mulled cider by substituting cider for wine.
