The Captain des Guides is responsible for efficiently overseeing all guides within the city of Paris. It is the Captain's duty to ensure that there are adequate numbers of trained guides to aide and assist newcomers to Paris. The Captain holds the power to hire or dismiss any Guide. The Captain directly supervises the Lieutenants des Guides. While mainly a position in supervision, the Captain will also guide newcomers from time to time, and is authorized to test that guides are properly performing their functions. The Captain des Guides reports directly to the Royalty in all matters affecting Guides and newcomers to Paris.

The Captain des Guides commands a salary of 17000 livres per month, with 1000 in costs. The post grants you 21000 social points and 2100 honour per month, with a gain of 35 on your health. Two people can occupy this position. You need a social level of 50, but not greater than 100 to occupy this position. Only those of Grand ArchDuc/Grande ArchDuchess or below may hold this position. This position allows you to hand out twenty level one and fifteen level two favours per season. This position is awarded on merit, not by application.
