Naming Guidelines

These guidelines are very important that they are followed and have been in HELP BUILDINGNAMES since the minimum titles to own a house went in and the help files re-written with the exception of a few that Willow has added to help keep the Hôtel de Ville running smoothly.

Using a specific naming policy to denote certain types of property eliminates confusion and allows the Estate Agents to ‘view’ the various sizes of abodes as well as allowing the Royal Family to repossess unused houses easier, getting the houses back on the market sooner for the public to buy them.

A bit of personal creativity can be used when naming properties, however, there are a few rules to which we must adhere.

NAMING RULES
1 Housing names must be under thirty (30) characters in length including both letters and spaces. However, something we all need to remember is that the people typing the House Names the most are those just learning and long names hinder that heavily. So, if you can get by without using the full thirty characters, please do so, otherwise, the Royal Family will be forced to step in and make the change formally
2 Houses must include one of the names available to them in the proper housing category. The entire name must be part of the title
For Example: ‘Large’ may not be removed from the building type ‘Large House’ leaving only ‘House’
3 Use good taste and common sense when renaming. Royalty reserves the right to rename inappropriate choices. Inappropriate choices include offensive, out-of-character and misspelled names
4 Houses are to be renamed in either ALL French or ALL English…Do not mix the languages
For Example: Please do not use something like Joe's Large Maison or Family House de Bob
5 House Names are to have the primary words capitalized whilst secondary remain lower case unless it's the first word
For Example: Manoir des Reves or The Mansion of Dreams
6 No building will be named with the intent to disguise its type
Occasionally there will be a justifiable reason to specially name a building such as L'Ordre de Notre Dame or The Musketeers Clubhouse, however, these are exceptions and can only be approved by Royalty NOT by Estate Agents
