1 cup butter or margarine 2 cups brown sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 eggs 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts 1 1/2 cups whole wheat pastry flour 1 1/2 cups unbleached flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 teaspoons curry powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Preheat oven to 325° F. Cream butter and sugar. Add the vanilla and eggs and continue to cream the mixture. Mix together the walnuts, flours, baking soda, curry powder and salt. Stir these dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Refrigerate until dough is chilled.
Bake in preheated oven until golden.
