This is the best choice for simply scenting the air with notes of love. If you want to attract love to a new abode or even in your office, this is a subtle but reliable potpourri mixture. Plunder friends’ gardens to get the fresh flowers you need.

1 cup each fresh violets, sweet peas (mauve and pink for attracting love), scented clove carnations (pinks), sweet woodruff or meadowsweet and peonies
1 tablespoon ground orrisroot
2 drops each violet, carnation, sweet pea and peony essential oil or perfume oils

Remove the petals of the large flowers and keep several whole, smaller flowers. Combine all the ingredients in a tightly lidded jar, adding the oils last. Store for four to six weeks in a dry, dark place, shaking the jar occasionally to blend the mixture.

Decant into an appropriate vessel and place in the hearth, on the alter of your home or right on your desk at work. Bliss for noses and spirits.
