This is a witchy potion for a femme fatale. It is very evocative and will give you a feeling of magical control at your fingertips as you stroke it on. This balm forms a separate layer and will hold the scent well. The best receptacle for it on a daily basis would be a small locket you could wear around your neck. Be sure to find your aromatic trademark by experimenting with several oils for the right balance. 1/2 ounce white beeswax 1/2 ounce anhydrous lanolin 60 ml (2 fluid ounces, about 1/4 cup) essential oils of your choice (try these groups: bergamot, lemon, neroli, orange; sandalwood, rose, bergamot, jasmine; ylang ylang, clove, vanilla, tuberose; frankincense, petitgrain, bergamot, ginger; rose, myrtle, sandalwood, oakmoss; neroli, lavender, vetiver) This will be a costly first brew, but will last well if stored in a dark glass jar and kept cool.
Heat the beeswax and lanolin in a double broiler (or in a bowl over a pan of boiling water), taking care to do this slowly and gently. While it is still warm, pour in your blend of oils (totaling 60 ml: most essential oils are available in 10 or 15 ml bottles) and stir well until properly combined. While the mixture is still warm and molten, pour into clean, dark glass jars and label.
When you want to take a little and put it into a locket or perfume ring, use a warm knife to remove it. Be aware when and where you wear it – your body temperature can make the unguent too soft.
