Buttered Beer

2 quarts beer or ale
6 tbsp butter
2 tsp nutmeg
6 eggs
1/2 cup sugar

Boil beer or ale and skim the top with a slotted spoon. Beat together the eggs and sugar, add to the beer, reduce heat, stirring constantly. Add butter, stir until butter is desolved. Pour into glasses. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
